Morty Misses You
One of the most joyous things that Morty does is write his blogs. He loves thinking about how he can come up with new ideas, distinctions and processes that will make a difference in your lives. He reads, thinks, and is always dedicated to consistently contributing so that your lives can be freer. It is obvious to all of you who loyally read his blog that he hasn’t written in awhile. So I am writing to fill you in. Morty has had a return of lymphoma and it hit pretty hard this time. His hemoglobin is very low and so he [...]
“Who” or “what” really creates our life?
In an earlier post I wrote that I realized that we give meaning to events before we form beliefs and that, in fact, the early meanings are the basis for our beliefs. I also wrote that I made a big mistake when I said in the Who Am I Really? Process that the creator of our beliefs is our Infinite Self/consciousness, when really it is our finite self. I’ve had a chance to do some more thinking about both these issues and how they relate to each other. You—each of you—really are the creator of your life. Let me explain [...]
Use your mind to affect your physical state
Two weeks ago I wrote the following in a post entitled, “Another major breakthrough is on the horizon”: I now think there is something very important that will come from integrating the ability to stop giving meaning, the almost total absence of stress (which has been implicated in almost every minor and major health problem), experiencing unconditional love for people, the fact that our language and the words we use to objectively describe reality already contain meaning that produces significant changes in the body, being able to access the WAIR? altered state of consciousness at will, and the placebo effect [...]
How Can I Help You?
I’ve spent the last few days experiencing extreme gratitude for my healing (see note below for details on my health condition). That gratitude led me to wonder what I could do to support you, my readers. What could I write about, what could I offer you, what could I do for you to express my love and appreciation for your support of me? And not just those of you who took the time to write me: What could I do to express the deep love I feel for each one of you? Each week I try to provide some useful [...]
I was diagnosed with cancer last week
I want to tell you about my reaction when I was told I had colon cancer last week and how I have been dealing with the diagnosis ever since. Not because I think you are particularly interested in details about my health, but because I did something very unusual—yet something anyone can learn to do, something that can eliminate suffering from your life. Here’s the relevant background I have been visiting an oncologist (a cancer doctor) regularly for over eight years because of an earlier diagnosis of a type of blood cancer. That illness was never very serious and had been managed [...]
Wouldn’t It Be Nice To Love More?
When I read about how people who had meditated for many years were able to experience increased love and compassion for virtually anyone, I thought: I’d like to have that experience. So I decided to see if I could create a process that would enable others and me to achieve that very exciting goal without requiring the many years of meditation. I developed a process that I tried with the 20 people in my last Advanced Lefkoe Freedom Course. It was effective for most of them. Here is a description of exactly what we did. Try this exercise yourself and [...]
You can have much more happiness than you realize
Most people are more interested in avoiding or relieving pain than in achieving and experiencing happiness. Thus most people go into psychotherapy or pursue “self-help” programs to overcome "problems"—such as changing some negative, undesirable behavior (e.g., procrastination or not taking action to further one's goals) or stopping some negative undesirable emotions (e.g., fear or depression). Far fewer people ask for help when they aren’t experiencing some obvious problem. In other words, relatively few people strive to improve their lives when it already seems to be “working.” Much more is possible There’s nothing wrong with that approach. I'd like to suggest, [...]
Would you like to feel unconditional love?
Would you like to experience more love and compassion for people and less judgment and criticism? Most people would and lots of people have described how to do this: adopt a serious meditation program and after years and years of consistent practice, you probably will achieve your goal. I’ve written in the past about my ability to not only feel unconditional love for my wife Shelly and two daughters, but also for friends and associates. And I have pretty much stopped judging and criticizing people. Because I’ve never been a serious meditator, I was clear that meditation wasn’t the only [...]
Do you express your love for people?
Shortly after I married Shelly over 31 years ago people started to describe her as representing the heart in our relationship and me, the mind. We were great leading workshops together because I taught distinctions and abstractions, and she told stories to illustrate my abstractions and usually created a better relationship with people in the class. Even though expressing love was not one of my strong suits, I have always experienced a profound love for Shelly and our two girls, Blake and Brittany. Over the past few years, however, that love has gotten so immense inside me that I am [...]
