How to improve the quality of your life

I’ve said on many occasions that all of us at the Lefkoe Institute are committed to helping you improve the quality of your life. But I don’t think I’ve ever defined what I mean by “improving the quality of your life.” It is possible to have a life where you are surviving very well, in other words, you have plenty of money to meet your needs and plenty of friends. In such a situation I would say you are surviving very well, but that doesn’t mean you are necessarily thriving. You might not be depressed or be run by anxiety, [...]

How to be more successful than you ever have been

A few weeks ago I wrote: “I’m excited to be able to report that I am now convinced that you can drastically increase your ability to be significantly more successful in all areas of life, including your ability to make more money and accumulate more wealth.” When I wrote that I wasn't sure how to do it; I was only confident that it could be done. As I’ve written in the past, one of my favorite things is to promise to do something I don’t know how to do and then figure out how to do it. Well, I finally [...]

How to be more successful than you ever have been

I’ve just realized that it is definitely possible to do something that I hadn’t thought could be done: Significantly increase one’s ability to become wealthy. Most people. Most of the time. For years I knew that people could make radical changes in their behavior and stop their negative feelings. In other words, it was relatively easy to stop the “negative.” It was quite another thing to be able to create a “positive.” Especially a positive “reality.” There are too many things involved in having the perfect life partner show up other than merely getting rid of limiting beliefs and occurrings. [...]

A realization while on vacation in NYC

I am writing this in New York City, almost 3,000 miles from my home in the San Francisco Bay area.  My wife Shelly took me here for a week to celebrate my 75th birthday. I had planned to skip my blog post this week (I think I’ve only missed one post in three years), but I decided to share some insights I’ve had as I’ve walked miles every day, seeing sights I haven’t seen for over 10 years. Over a year ago I wrote a post about moods, asking you what you thought a mood was.  The response of over [...]

Are they really stupid?

Rare is the day when we don’t think that someone’s behavior or emotional reaction makes absolutely no sense at all.  One day it might be a government official, another day it could be a loved one. In these situations there is always the unstated assumption that they are seeing the same reality I am seeing.  And their response to the reality I am seeing is either crazy or stupid. In fact, I contend that almost always there are at least two very different “realities” involved here: one for you and a totally different one for the other person. There also [...]

It worked. Brilliantly.

Remember last December I wrote that I was about to have a breakthrough? Well, I did. On February 16, 2010 nineteen people and I began the Lefkoe Freedom Experiment (LFE). Before we started I promised the participants: “You will learn how to transform the way you experience your life. No matter what the circumstances. Twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.” Actually, I had never taught anyone to do that before, but I like to promise things I’ve never done before. That’s the exciting part: Figuring out how to do things after I’ve promised to do them. The LFE [...]
