Hi, it’s Shelly Lefkoe, co-founder of the Lefkoe Institute.

I was in the shower this morning getting ready for a podcast interview called, But First She Failed. I knew the host was going to ask me about a time in my life that I had failed. I couldn’t think of one. That was quite an insight. I realized that for so much of my life, given my beliefs, I didn’t put myself out there. I played it safe. Yes, I lead workshops and work with people all over the world, but that’s my dharma. That comes easily to me. But when I look back at all the jobs I’ve had, it’s the same. Everything I did were things that came easily to me, even if there was a learning curve.

But until my husband died seven years ago, I played it safe. Fortunately for me, by then, I had eliminated beliefs like, “I’m not good enough.” “Mistakes and failures are bad.” “If I make a mistake or fail, I’ll be rejected.” “I’m not smart.” “What makes me good enough is having other people think well of me.”

Well, how can I make mistakes or fail with those beliefs? But having eliminated them, made it so much easier for me to step up and say, “I don’t know anything about running a company. It’s not anything I ever aspired to do, but I’m going to take this on.”

So now, I’m not afraid to fail. I use resources, I ask friends for help and support, and for seven years, my business has been doing really well and I’m really proud of myself, and I can only do that because I had eliminated those beliefs.

So, if any of those beliefs resonate with you, go to recreateyourlife.com and you can eliminate, “I’m not good enough,” or, “Mistakes and failures are bad.” It is a game-changer.

Have a great day and I’ll see you again soon.
