By the time you read this I either will be in surgery or have completed it. This week’s post will bring you up to date.

A Man Brainstorming about LearnI am not telling you about how I am dealing with the cancer diagnosis because I think it is particularly interesting. I am telling you because I think that the way I am dealing with it might provide some useful lessons for you. It is possible for YOU to stop giving events meaning. It is possible for YOU to create a positive context for your life. It is possible for YOU to pretty much eliminate stress and emotional suffering from your life.

I am telling you my story because anything that I am doing to deal effectively with a cancer diagnosis you can do to deal with any potentially difficult situation in YOUR life.

I’ve spoken to my support team

Since I wrote last week’s blog post I have met with Jennifer Lucus, my oncologist, Dr. Madhulika Varma, my surgeon at UCSF, and Michael Broffman of the Pine Street Clinic, my Chinese medicine specialist who is an expert on anything that has to do with cancer.

CEA can have false negative results

I discovered that about 80% of colon cancer throws off the CEA antigen.  So when my CEA blood markers dropped dramatically from 79 to the normal range of under 2.5 (and I thought I had been healed), that really meant that some of the cancer cells were being killed off, but that other cancer cells remained in my system and were growing.  At the moment there also are signs of cancer in my spleen and lymph nodes. Interestingly enough, the cancer that had been discovered in my liver last April has shrunk.

Dr. Varma will remove about a foot of my colon that contains the tumor on Thursday, starting at 8:30 a.m. The surgery is expected to take about four and a half hours. She expects me to be out of the hospital by Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

I’m using a Molecular and Genomic Profiling Lab

After the surgery I will have some cancer cells that have been removed sent to a Molecular and Genomic Profiling Lab. That will enable Michael to find specific therapies that are targeted to my genes and the specific form of the cancer cells in my body. He already has a lot of ideas, including specifically formulated cannabis oil, high dosage vitamin C, GC-MAF with Goliac, and several other supplements and other treatments.

I feel comfortable with the treatment plans and am confident that they will result in me being totally free of all the cancer my doctors tell me I have in a relatively short period of time.

I’m also working on my inner state

In addition to the surgery, diet, supplements, and alternative therapies, I continue to work on my inner state. I still am not giving meaning to my diagnosis or the surgery, so there is not and will not be any stress.

In addition, I am holding everything that happens in the context of: I am healthy. I am fine and will continue to be fine. I might not understand right now how some things are evidence of that context, but I’m still holding everything as proof that I’m really okay.

An important note to my readers:

Thanks for sending all your love and healing wishes. Your comments mean a lot to me. I really do think that love from a distance can heal, as we are ultimately all one (like the ocean) manifesting as specific people (different waves). So sending love to someone at a distance is really just loving all of yourself.

Thanks for reading my blog. Please post your questions or comments on the change in my health condition, how it has been occurring to me, and how you can improve the quality of your life with lessons from my experience. Disagreement is as welcome as agreement. Your comments add value for thousands of readers. I love to read them all and I will respond to as many as I can.

    I can learn this.

That all Answers Preexist any Condition by virtue of the fact

you meet up with the answer somewhere down the road in the time line of your life

and of course, even more important, by Virtue of the Fact God Exists.

That there is a Cure for everything in existence, Right Now, not Later.

I was recently told buy a doctor I had 2 new incurable diseases.

I said thanks Doc, for the tests. A week and a half later

I found a cure, came back to the doctors office and did a presentation.

He was so excited and then said, Wow, We can make a lot of money with this,

I said Yeah Doc, But I just want to Get Well :)

    Hello Morty

I seldom write and leave comments, although I have previously wished you well. You were in my meditation this day and in my thoughts off and on recently. So now I feel I must share with you this, with much love in my heart, I would like to share the following. I truly believe it is a belief driven world, I have seen miracles happen with physical disease by simply finding the beliefs that hold the reality in place, not least my own daughter who had a kidney problem, not any more. The doctors thought I was crazy in following my intuition (so did I at times) but it always proved right. My intution was ‘she was not ill’ as your intuition too said, and yet there she was in front of me proven to be ill by doctors. I asked my Higher Self why was she ill, and was shown beliefs that held this in my world, ‘she was not ill’ it was me, once I cleared the belief in me my daughter was fine, no problem. I feel I have so much to share with you about beliefs, including that not all beliefs that create illness are limiting, it may just appear that way. If you wish to contact me you can via http://www.selfempowermentfoundation.co.uk. I wish you awareness and clarity. Much Love Jacqueline. x

Morty you are an inspiration to me. Positive attitude and detachment from irrelevant meaning is a gift you bring. I am sure it aids your body-mind. QUESTION: when you say you are confident you will overcome your disease…is this your attitude or is it a belief in a real outcome that you expect? What empirical source gives you confidence you will overcome?

    • Ken Brown February 22, 2015 at 12:56 pm - Reply

He doesn’t need empirical sources to heal.
His vibration will attract the healing he needs.

And why would you try to enter doubt into anyone’s mind?
      Not helpful.
Miracles happen all the time with no evidence.

    Marty,

Your “I am” affirmations call forth and connect you to, your divine nature. I am well is your divine self. Your body may be experiencing a dis-ease, but your divine self is healthy. If you can, please read or listen to Louise Hays’ “You can Heal Your Life”. She healed herself of Cancer. Unhealthy thoughts that reside in us have the ability to manifest themselves as unhealthy conditions, disease (dis-ease) in our body. Again, I recommend getting in touch with a Theta Healer, in addition to your other healing methodologies, there are several in CA.

My prayer for you is perfect health.

    Love,

    Joy

fyi.. some more helpful information. sanoviv is a place were healthy people go to get healthier but it also offers new treatments for cancer that are not offered anywhere else. you have a say in your treatment planning , your an active memeber of the team if you so choose.they believe not all conventional treatments are horrible and not all alternative treatments are g.ood for every person or even for certain cancers.
they provide high doses of vitamin c when appropriate, immunoactive factor , orthoromolecular therapies, enhanced insulin potential therapy, ozone therapy, hyperthermia therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapies, detoxification, nutrition balancing and all organic vegetarian gluten free and diary free food.

sanoviv was founded by dr. myron wentz who has a ph.d. in microbiology and a m.s. in immunology. he is a genius no matter what anyone writes. he has developed 30 diagnostic tests for viral infections..most lay pple have heard of the epstein barr test that he developed.

he started a health supplement company. whic pple have said was a pyramid scheme. however, the companies products tested well. and people taking the supplements had higher vitamin d and lipoprotiens. dr. wentz supposedly changed his ways after a lawsuit against him which was never won anyways.

his father, aunts and uncles died when he was 17 of heart disease and cancer and early on in life he wanted to help in those fields.

as i said whatever the case.. this man is a genius. and def. worth looking into this facility.

I think you will confound your doctors who will wonder why your cancer is gradually disappearing. They won’t acknowledge alternatives like supplements, herbs, acupuncture so will come to the conclusion that you were misdiagnosed and you never had cancer in the first place!

    Hey Morty.

I dont know what kind of meaning you give to religion, such as christianity. What meaning do you give to God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit?
What meaning do you give to all the healings beeing done in Jesus name? Youtube are full of street-healing-videos now…I mean its thousands of them. People take their cameras and just film healing people on the streets.

Would you be open to try healing in Jesus name, to get rid of your cancer?

I have seen many testimonies, even live videos, of people beeing completely healed from cancer.

    Its amazing.

Im a born again christian my self, and I know its real. I have also followd you for a long time, and I also have faith in your method.

May God heal you of your cancer, and set you free, in Jesus name!

    Amen.

    Dear, Dear Morty;
I too, like Judy above, share a history of surgery, with 6 major orthopedic reconstructive surgeries in 2 years, multiple fusions 3 hip replacements (!) and the procedures to fix the inevitable things that go wrong in all that activity. Now, about 8 years later, I have a life I love.. Your Disappearing Occurrings Seminar, along with 2 private sessions with Dear, Dear Shelly, made such an impact on how I live. With the positive context of My Life Works, I understand how thinking needs to be directed and accurate for life to work.

I feel like I’ve been let out of an emotional and psychological prison. Whatever happens with your surgery is fine. Everyone involved will be loving, helpful, skilled and meticulous. The outcome will be fine. Your management of attitude is so inspirational it brings tears to my eyes. You have to know how your work has touched untold thousands of people. I too believe that people holding someone in extreme positive regard and love can send energy that impacts outcomes. I do that by praying, as one style of communication. You have multiple vectors of love and gratitude pointing at you today.

    Most Fondly,
    Lila

    Dear Morty —

Your research, consults and inner peace have led you to a great decision. You’re an inspiration to zillions of people, and I wish you a rapid recovery from the surgery and the continued strong will to allow your team to help your body heal.

I lost my colon to crohn’s disease after my body failed to produce the usual telltale antigens (or whatever it is that cd throws off). So the emergency procedure came suddenly, at a very late date. But my ileostomy was a total success. I’m alive and very well after being on the ledge of death with a ruptured colon.

Our illnesses are different, but I’m convinced the result will be the same. Relief from illness, with good health and gratitude. Bless you!

Thanks Morty for sharing such intimate details with us. I admire your approach to this and all situations that we might deem to be “bad” and showing us how to look at them in a very different way. You are obviously still in charge of your life and what is happening in it.

On a different note, while I understand that most humans want to hang onto “life” and stay here in the third dimension as long as possible, what of the alternative? Death, as we term it, isn’t a bad thing either. I had a NDE when I was 22 and although I am now well into being a senior and have no intention of leaving any time soon, I know that when I do finally make that transition it is going to be exciting and I have no fear of it. It certainly isn’t the end of “life” and when we go to that broader perspective we see and understand far more than we could have here on earth.

So while I wish you all the best in your journey which is teaching so much to so many, when you finally decide that it is time to go to the next level I will exalt with you and picture the rip roaring welcome party that you will receive. Life is good, no matter where or in which dimension you are living it!

    Sending you much love.

With you 110%. I am a thyroid cancer and 2 time prostate cancer survivor. Many people around me thought me to be in denial or having a Pollyanna attitude. As you can relate, I simply did not give the meaning others were giving to the cancer. I chose a path similar to what you are doing with your surgery and alternative medicine. Following 6 months of alternative treatment and extensive research (interviewed 11 different doctors in 8 different countries then choseto go to Italy for High Intensive Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), a procedure being done in the European countries for over 25 years and just now beginning clinical trails in the USA. Do I give it all meaning? By all means, yes. I now have the opportunity to be of service to many others through the non profit corporation http://www.livingwell60plus.org I formed and my forthcoming book “How To Have Fabulous Sex, Fulfilling Relationships, and More Intimacy After Prostate Cancer Surgery”. I truly appreciate the influence of the thoughts of those around me/us. In the spirit of oneness and our healing, know we are one with one another as I specifically include you in my meditation..

Hi Morty – wish you well in your upcoming surgery. If all I can mentally know of my health is the meaning I give my physical and mental state now or what others say about it, it makes sense that I can eliminate fears by weakening the evidence for the thinking that supports it and so experience greater peace. Thank you for teaching me this solution and for supporting my peace. I wish you peace in your apparently difficult moments. Love James

I wish you the best Morty. I have learned much from you.
      May I ad my insight?
It is impossible for your subconscious brain to NOT give a meaning to your cancer.
You can NOT give a meaning to your cancer consciously, but it is your subconscious that runs your immune system, your lymphatic system, and tells your T-cells and white blood cells what to do. It is the infinite intelligence we call “mother nature” or the power of unconditional love.
In an event like Cancer, I think a person should allow their human feelings (that come from negative meanings) to flow freely and strongly. This allows them to be released. Suppressed feeling are what messes with our subconscious programming and the energy of perfect love that allows our cells and systems to work in perfect harmony and health.
      Blessings,
      Dave Erickson

        Dave,
How do you know, for sure, that it is impossible for Morty’s subconscious brain not to give meaning to cancer?

And if you have evidence for that, how would you know (1) what that meaning is and (2) whether the meaning would impact his immune system and (3) the nature of the impact – improving his circumstances or not?

      • NovemberRain February 25, 2015 at 10:33 pm - Reply

Feelings are not meanings. :) I worked a lot on that when I was working out beliefs. I don’t think meanings cause feelings. Sometimes, the meaning we make up about events can cause feelings. Sometimes our parasympathetic nervous systems just makes feelings. And feeling them is quite a great way to release them (for me, anyway).

Assigning meanings to feelings (rather than allowing feelings, whether from meaning or not) is as much trouble as assigning meanings to events.
