Shelly, I get that most or our ingrained/influential beliefs are formed during childhood and result in how we view ourselves, the world and our relationship to it… based on our parents beliefs and responses to us. My struggle has always been, I had two amazing parents that believed in me, encouraged me to believe in myself and told me I could do, be or become anything I wanted. I grew up in a loving supportive environment, had a good childhood, friends, boyfriends, excelled at many things…etc., My question is, why do I feel this way and how do I uncover where I formed these. I understand beliefs are a choice based on how I choose to “view” and what emotion I attach to an experience. Ironically,I’m trained in NLP and hypnosis and have helped many others but can’t seem do it for myself. I’m consciously on board but can’t get my subconscious to buy in. I’m heavy on the kinestetic side with a strong visual influence. On the outside I appear confient and togther but want to start embodying it and start experiencing that last 3/4 inches! Any thought or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you….

      Hi Beth,

Thanks for writing. Beliefs are not a “choice” to view things a certain way. It’s not like we consciously decide to chose I’m not good enough. It’s what we make of the situation given our limited scope at the time. Having said that I can’t know until I talk to you where your beliefs come from or even what they are. If you’re interested in having a session that’s the only way I would be able to help. My parents were loving, support parents who would do anything for me and loved me to the moon and back. They still did things and said things that led to my beliefs. I was the most conscious parent imaginable and I made mistakes. If you want to investigate let me know.

      Warmly, Shelly
